Steve Capp: Producer, Recording/Mixing Engineer.
Whether you are a long-time professional recording artist or venturing on your first recording endeavor, nothing can set your project ahead of the rest like having an experienced professional guide the way through your recording experience. Steve Capp hails from Detroit, Michigan where he has been one of the city’s top engineers for over fifteen years. Steve and his family moved to the Des Moines area during the summer of 2005. “Being from Detroit, I have had the pleasure of being exposed to many different styles of music: From Gospel to Jazz, Rap to Blues, and Rock to R&B, Detroit’s wide spectrum of talented artists has always kept my job fresh and exciting.” From artists such as Aretha Franklin, Kenny Loggins, and Queen Latifa, to hundreds of local musicians, Steve’s discography, experience and abilities have earned him the reputation as one of Detroit’s finest. His talents, his ear for music and his easygoing demeanor have made him one of Detroit’s most in-demand studio professionals. Steve creates a friendly and professional atmosphere to the recording process. “I can’t thank Steve enough for breathing new life into my project,” writes longtime recording artist Danny Cox.
Steve’s work on Platinum Award winning albums and his Grammy Award winning mixes, though impressive, are not what he says have established him as one of Detroit’s recording elite: “It’s really hard to mess up a good song,” states Steve humbly. “Over the years, I have had the pleasure to work with some amazingly talented artists. There is a tremendous bond that forms between people when they create music together. I have had the privilege to share in some incredibly inspiring projects. I have always felt that recording engineers are some of the most fortunate people around. It’s like having a front row seat to a song’s birth, right through to its release.”
